Short Film Competition

Welcome to the “Breaking Chains, Uplifting Lives” Short Film Competition. This competition aims to shed light on the critical issues of child marriage and child rape. By participating, you have the opportunity to use the power of storytelling to raise awareness, provoke thought, and inspire positive change.

Competition Details

Eligibility: The competition is open to filmmakers of all levels and backgrounds. Both amateurs and professionals are encouraged to participate.

Theme: Films must address the themes of child marriage or child rape. You may choose to focus on one or both themes.

Duration: Films should be no longer than 10 minutes, including credits.

Submission Deadline: Please submit your films by 30th November 2023

Prizes:

  • The winner of the competition will be recognized at the Future of Women Conference in Thailand and will be played at the conference day.
  • Winner will receive recognition and exposure through our social media channels and partner organizations.
  • A complementary virtual participation slot will also be awarded free of charge.
  • An endorsed certificate will be issued identifying as a winner of “Break the Silence” Short film competition.

Judging: A panel of expert judges will evaluate the films based on creativity, storytelling, impact, and relevance to the chosen theme. The decisions of the judges will be final.

Submission Guidelines:

1. Films must be submitted in mp4 and submitted.

2. Please include your name, contact information, and a brief description of your film. (In a word document)

Copyright and Permissions: All content used in the films, including music, images, and footage, must either be original or used with proper permissions and attributions. By submitting a film, participants agree to grant TIIKM (The International Institute of Knowledge Management) permission to screen and share their work for awareness and educational purposes

Film Themes

Child Marriage:

Explore the stories of young girls and boys forced into early marriages, the consequences they face, and the efforts to prevent child marriages and support survivors.

Child Rape:

Address the realities of child rape, focusing on the survivors’ stories, advocacy for justice, and the measures in place to protect children.
